Some pictures are worth more than a thousand words. Like this one, by Ariana Cubillos of the Associated Press, of mimes in Caracas, Venezuela. Caracas is one of several South American cities that have decided to take a new, silent approach to fighting traffic crime, employing mimes to mock drivers and pedestrians who disregard the rules of the road.
I doubt these guys would last long where I live. Mimes are mocked, practically stoned. (Okay, some mimes are stoned, but that’s not what I meant.) If they stepped out into traffic, they’d be taking their lives into their hands, regardless of that glass box they all seem to stand in.
