If you remember the fashionable and diverse bunch of young urban cops—including this guy—serving undercover in city high school from 1987-1991, you may be surprised by the update on the concept.
According to Venkman at Geek Tyrant, Jonah Hill’s producing and starring in a movie remake, filming in New Orleans, as an R-rated action-comedy with Channing Tatum co-starring as his cop partner and undercover-brother. Spinoff reports that Johnny Depp will make a small cameo appearance in it, too. Coming to theatres in March 2012.

What does it say that the shows I remember from my youth are all being remade into comedies? Starsky & Hutch, 21 Jump Street, Charlie’s Angels…
I thought this show was great back then…not sure about remaking it into R rated comedy though. I guess if Johnny Depp is going to have a part, I will have to at least wait and see. I will say the Starsky & Hutch remake was hysterical!!! And the attention paid to remaking the opening was THE BEST EVER!!!
