In a sleepy rural town of Ohio, the Amish and “English” residents have lived side by side for two centuries. But a series of brutal murders shattered the peaceful farming community. A young Amish girl, Kate Burkholder, survived the terror of the Slaughterhouse Killer but came away from its brutality with the realization that she no longer belonged with the Amish. Now, a wealth of experience later, Kate has returned to Amish Country as a Chief of Police, where her upbringing combined with her big city law enforcement background help her investigate crimes that reflect cultural and social complexities as much as the darkness of human hearts.

Criminal Element is giving away a COMPLETE, SIGNED set of the Kate Burkholder series, signed by the author Linda Castillo. But, that’s not all. While only one person will win the set, 10 other people will win the latest Kate Burkholder book, Gone Missing. What are you waiting for? Enter today!

I haven’t read her yet but I would love too. I hear she’s coming to Bouchercon in Cleveland this October!

I normally don’t tell my friends to read a book before I have read it myself, however, I feel that Linda Castillo’s series are going to be great.
I have always enjoyed mystery novels and combined with an Amish born and bred law enforcement officer they should lend to very interesting books.
I look forward to reading all of her creations.
