Restaurants nourish us. While they're closed, we need to nourish them.
Hello everyone. I’m Terrie Farley Moran and I write cozy mysteries including the Read ’Em and Eat series. In those cozies, Sassy Cabot and Bridgy Mayfield own a café and bookstore in Fort Myers Beach, Florida. At the Read ’Em and Eat book lovers can find such luscious treats such as Old Man and the Sea chowder with a side of Catcher in the Rye toast or perhaps Miss Marple scones along with a plate of Green Eggs and Ham.
Food and cozies are inseparable. As an avid cozy reader, I assure you that a reader who picks up a cozy mystery is bound to find a meal or two within. Many include recipes.
So it follows that cozy readers and writers are troubled by the way the restaurant business is being devastated by the COVID19 Pandemic. I would like to let you know that Penguin Random House is helping with a cookbook in a digital-only format called Family Meal.
All of the recipes in the book are provided by professional chefs and EVERY CENT of the proceeds from sales of Family Meal will benefit the Restaurant Workers’ Covid-19 Emergency Relief Fund, an organization that supports on-the-ground efforts to help workers in the restaurant community during this challenging time.
To help support this effort, we here at Criminal Element are giving away FIVE copies of the e-book Family Meal. For a chance to win, please make sure you’re a registered member of the Criminal Element site and simply leave a comment below.
