When Good Pets Go Bad

Dog with gun and cigar
Who you calling cute?
Being shot is nothing to laugh about, but sometimes it can make you, well, the butt of many a joke. This is bound to be the case for an unnamed gentleman in Brigham City, Utah, who got shot in the rear by his dog this week.  Yes, you read that correctly, according to news stories, he was shot by his dog.

The man left his gun in his boat as he climbed out to set up some duck-hunting decoys. The dog, eager not to be left behind, stepped on the gun on his way out of the boat. But was that all that happened?  According to Sheriff’s Deputing Kevin Potter, “I don’t know if the safety device was on. It’s not impossible the dog could have taken it off safety.”

So you may have thought yourself safe from your pup just because he has no opposable thumbs, but that is apparently not the case. Be careful or you, too, could end up having twenty-seven pellets of birdshot being removed from a sensitive area of your anatomy.
