Sweep the Confetti and Crack Your Knuckles, It’s a New Year!

Whether you love P.I.’s, procedurals, Golden Age, cozies, Westerns, historicals, thrillers, noir, true crime, movies, TV shows, even comics or videogames, we’re blasting double barrels of a 20-12-gauge year around here!

The Washington Post has a terrific slideshow of New Year’s Eve celebrations around the world, including this Times Square clean-up crew captured by John Minchillo/AP.  Our own celebration includes cleaning the dusty skeletons out of our virtual closets, and we resolve to unpack more fresh crime stories in the year ahead!

P.S. Just saw The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and the first episode of BBC’s new season of Sherlock.  Shall we chat?  Oh yes, we must!!  Make your notes, and meet us back here once our hangovers have cleared and our opinions have been honed to diamond-cutting sharpness.

I didn’t realize the first episode of the BBC Sherlock was out so soon! I hope my DVR caught it… I need to watch it today.

It hasn’t aired here in the U.S., but some of us who will also watch it when it comes to PBS this spring just couldn’t wait and caught an overseas feed : )

Yummy, I have to say. A few over the top moments– for me, personally– but the deelish ones more than make up. I look forward to watching it again, because I’m sure there are fine points I missed, and the fabulous Lyndsay Faye will have a write-up for us imminently!

Oh bummer, I can’t watch it until Spring then. I’m glad it was a good one though.

Not to worry–We’re going to talk about it when it airs here, too!
