But it’s tough out there for a zombie, and lately it’s been getting tougher. These days the life-challenged have to register and take monthly tests to prove our emotional stability. See, if my kind gets too low, we go feral. I’ve been feeling a little down lately myself.

Joe Golem and the Drowning City, an illustrated novel by Mike Mignola and Christopher Golden
In 1925, earthquakes and a rising sea level left Lower Manhattan submerged under more than thirty feet of water, so that its residents began to call it the Drowning City. Those unwilling to abandon their homes created a new life on streets turned to canals and in buildings whose first three stories were underwater. Fifty years have passed since then, and the Drowning City is full of scavengers and water rats, poor people trying to eke out an existence, and those too proud or stubborn to be defeated by circumstance.
Juggernaut by Adam Baker
Iraq 2005. Seven mercenaries hear an enticing rumor: somewhere, abandoned in the swirling desert sands, lies an abandoned Republican Guard convoy containing millions of pounds of Saddam's gold. After liberating the sole surviving Guard member from US capture, the team makes their way to the ancient ruins where the convoy was last seen. Although all seems eerily quiet and deserted when they arrive, they soon find themselves caught in a desperate battle for their lives, confronted by greed, betrayal, and an army that won't stay dead.

I’m in Baby. I’m in!
This is an intriguing combination of books, especially the graphic novels and the Poe sequels (although my prejudice is not to be too hopeful – with apologies to the author) … and while I don’t HAVE to comment, I am choosing to! (Just as well, I hate going through a whole excerpt, only to see a bunch of “Enter me” comments following it.
These sound interesting
