What is money, exactly? Back in the day, before coins and cash and credit cards, we used to exchange goods and services based on perceived value. A bucket of corn for a day’s work. Two potatoes for a head of lettuce. A dime-bag of marijuana for a drink?
According to Omaha World-Herald, a 24-year-old man in Lincoln, NE, attempted to use marijuana to pay for a drink at a Domino’s Pizza. After paying for his pizza with tattered and taped-up money, the man decided to quench his thirst with a cold beverage. Except for this time, he slid the cashier some weed as payment. The cashier reported this strange exchange to the manager, who called the police.
When police arrived, they found a joint, a scale, and individually packed marijuana, as well as $87. Looks like he got his greenbacks confused! The penalty: a possession charge and $5,000 bail.
