The town of Brunete, Spain, on the outskirts of Madrid had a crime problem. It wasn’t a big thing, but it was the kind of chronic issue that starts to really stink if you ignore it for too long: local citizens didn’t pick up after their dogs and the piles of dog doo around town were becoming a nuisance.
So the town fathers addressed their poop problem with a brilliant bit of direct marketing, courtesy of the advertising agency McCann.
As the video demonstrates, there’s nothing like a special delivery to capture a scofflaw’s attention. And the result? Caca crime down 70 percent.
