Son of Sam. The .44 Caliber Killer. David Berkowitz. Richard David Falco. These are the names of one of the most infamous American serial killers ever, who terrorized New York City from July 1976 until his capture in August 1977.

Claiming to be obeying a demon, Berkowitz killed six people and wounded seven others during his year of terror. He’s currently serving six consecutive life sentences at the Shawangunk Correctional Facility in Fallsburg, New York.

Now, 40 years after his capture, Berkowitz speaks out about “what led him to kill, his life before he turned into a murderer, and life in prison today” in a new interview with CBS News Correspondent Maurice DuBois, airing on CBS on Friday, August 11, 2017.
