Modern Medicine had to Start Somewhere: Trailer for The Knick

From Oscar winning director Steven Soderbergh (Traffic, Erin Brokovich, Ocean's Eleven though Thirteen) comes The Knick, a ten-episode television series set in 1900 New York at The Knickerbocker Hospital. Clive Owen plays head surgeon Dr. John Thackery, a character who might very well be a long-lost descendant of Dr. Gregory House, complete with a questionable moral compass and a habit of self-medication.

The Knick will air on Cinemax on Friday nights starting August 8th, and I will be reviewing, reacting, and squirming along with every episode here on Criminal Element. I've already seen the first episode, and while it was a strong start, I must give one warning: Do not eat dinner while watching The Knick. You can watch the trailer below, and tune in Friday for my reaction to Episode 1.
