The next time Daniel Day-Lewis wins an Academy Award, he'll be able to put “Sir” on the trophy, as he will be one of more than 1,100 people from the United Kingdom due to be recognized at Queen Elizabeth's Birthday Honors list.
The only person to ever win three Oscars for Best Lead Actor, his roles were Cristy Brown in My Left Foot, Daniel Plainview in There Will Be Blood, and Abraham Lincoln in the eponymous film. Day-Lewis has also been nominated for his roles of Gerry Conlon in In the Name of the Father and as Bill “The Butcher” Cutting in Gangs of New York.
Well deserved. He is extraordinary.
