The Undead Will Rise Again…and Again

The R.I.P.D. abides

Say what you will about the undead, they’re versatile.

We’re already preparing for a hunka hunka zombie love from Warm Bodies, an upcoming movie based on the 2011 book by Isaac Marion.

In late June or thereabouts, we’ll be visited by zombie detectives in R.I.P.D. (aka the Rest in Peace Department) a feature film based on the comic by Peter Lenkov and Lucas Marangon. This one stars Ryan Reynolds as Nick Walker, a recently killed police officer who wants revenge against the man who did him in. Jeff Bridges is Roy Pulsipher, Walker’s partner in the R.I.P.D. Kevin Bacon, Mary-Louise Parker, and James Hong also star. Much of the film was shot in Boston and as far as we can tell they’re now doing reshoots and all that post-production stuff in Los Angeles.

And of course you might have heard a thing or two about World War Z, based on the 2006 zombie apocalypse book by Max Brooks and starring zombie Brad Pitt…or something. Mireille Enos from The Killing is in that one, too. It’s supposed to be out in June.

Zombie Brad Pitt aside (’cause we’d pay cash money to see that) we are begining to wonder: How long until we officially declare zombies done to death?
