A Florida Woman Scorned

Of the Miami New Times recent list of Florida’s 24 Dumbest Criminals of 2012 we say, “Only 24?” For when it comes to wackadoo crime, Florida is the gift that keeps on giving. (In May, a guy ate another guy’s face. Need we say more?)

But amid the tales of bad and bizarre behavior, this story from November touched our spray-painted hearts:

To demonstrate just how she felt about her impending divorce, Audrey Dostie spray-painted broken hearts all over the courthouse where the judge was deciding the case. What Audrey probably didn’t take into account—being blinded by love and all—is that the Duval County Courthouse in Jacksonville didn’t need redecorating. The $350 million building had only been completed five months earlier. (Fortunately, the city budget stretched to power washers.)

Audrey then took her can of purple spray-paint to her husband’s office and continued tagging messages of passion and betrayal until the police interceded.

Thank you, Florida, for a rip-roaring 2012. Can’t wait to see what you have in store for us in 2013.

As a resident of FL since I was 12, I would take offense…if I could. Cannot. Cute example!!!
