World’s Sexiest…Dictator?

The Onion has been around long enough for it to be widely known for its parody news and for having its tongue firmly in its cheek. This week, after People magazine named Channing Tatum as its “Sexiest Man Alive,” The Onion made its own announcement, declaring Kim Jong Un, leader of North Korea, the Sexiest Man Alive.

Now most Americans would know that this was just gag poking fun at People. But for a few (billion) people over in China, it was real enough after this “news” was reported as fact. The People’s Daily, the official newspaper of the Communist Party of China, ran an article congratulating the round-faced leader and quoting the original article from The Onion. (Of course this is not the first time The Onion has gotten into trouble because of its parodies.)

Unfortunately for everyone in China (and anyone else who thinks this little dictator has a certain something), he’s taken. But who knows, after all, he does have brothers!
