Stop Thief Chair: Design Against Crime?

Did you know that for every minute that passes in the UK another person becomes a victim of bag theft?  That’s what the makers of the Stop Thief Chair report, and they’ve even got research area with diagrams and information on “dipping” and “lifting” as criminal techniques. Do you like the style, how does it work for a shoulder bag, and does it say something unpleasant about current cafe culture that this is a furniture brand by name?

Looks a bit awkward to me–I would rather have something on the back of the chair , given how long some of my bag straps are.

Wait—I would have to sit with the bag between my legs? How awkward is that? Show me a chair with someone sitting in it and I’ll judge the design again.
