Looks like Sam will be starting a new career in criminal investigation. The latest word is that Ted Danson will be replacing Laurence Fishburne on CSI as the new Grissom.

The good news is that our favorite bartender is not a complete stranger to crime. He has recently completed a role on FX’s Damages as the morally bankrupt billionaire Arthur Frobisher and continues to play an editor-turned-unlicensed-private-detective in HBO’s comedy series Bored To Death.

What do you think? Is this the new face of your Grissom?

I’ll never be able to take him seriously. I wish they had either found a complete unknown or promoted one of the regulars to “boss” and then added a new person at the bottom of the ladder.

Danson is ingrained in my mind as Sam Malone that I have trouble seeing him in any other role. Too bad for Ted. Sorry, I can’t see him on CSI but I will give it a go…
