First Peek at David Fincher’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

Rooney Mara as Lisbeth Salander in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo/ Columbia Pictures
Via Steven Zeitchik and the L.A. Times blog 24 Frames:

“Was it leaked from a European theater or stealthily put there by Sony? Whatever your conspiracy theory, the source is perhaps less important than the content of this so-called ”feel-bad“ Christmas movie, all of which comes at us fast, gritty and stylish…[There’s a] blink-and-you’ll-miss-it nudity shot; please use your discretion…“

Click over to read more of Zeitchick’s analysis of the soundtrack, featuring itself a remake of Led Zeppelin’s “Immigrant Song.“ He’s got lots more to say about the look and possible content selection of director David Fincher’s receconception for English-speaking audiences of the hit Swedish movie based upon Stieg Larsson’s Milennium trilogy, starring for this iteration Rooney Mara, Daniel Craig, Stellan Skarsgard, Robin Wright, and Christopher Plummer among others.

If you’ve already seen the international, subtitled version of this film, are you interested in this next one?  Does it look too similar or not similar enough?  Is it a cover version, or will it be this holiday season’s ”hammer of the gods?”

The trailer is not available anymore “for copyrights reasons” alleged by Sony

Perhaps now that the viral marketing campaign has succeeded? I confess to being suspicious (call me a crime fan) that they weren’t swifter on that. I mean, after all these big news sites linked it, it sure looked like Sony wasn’t protesting. Now, they leave us wanting more. It’s either brilliant or irritating or both.
