The Alex Mason trial is her first big one, a likely death penalty case, and she's second chair to Regina. Increasingly, she's worried her boss' behavior and the details in the case against their client don't quite add up.

Phillip Margolin has written over twenty novels, most of them New York Times bestsellers, including Gone But Not Forgotten, Lost Lake, and Violent Crimes. In addition to being a novelist, he was a long time criminal defense attorney with decades of trial experience, including a large number of capital cases. Margolin lives in Portland, Oregon.

Don’t generally listen to audio books. The internal sound track of the mind fills in the necessay voices. Theresa Plummer does a good job here. Adding a nice touch to the opening few paragraphs. Believe she adds to Phillip Margolin’s deft touch.

I have enjoyed several of Phillip Margolin’s books and enjoyed them. I expect a good suspenseful read with a complex plot, well drawn characters, and a plot twist or two in the suspenses and mysteries I read. He has always delivered. My daughter just started law school and would enjoy this. I love geting books I can share with my daughters family.
