Nancy Drew Sleuths and You?: The 2013 Convention in Boston

Did you know you can join other sleuths and Nancy fans to explore the settings of The Secret of the Wooden Lady (#27) and The Case of the Vanishing Veil (#83)? We try to be on top of things, but Nancy Drew is always a step ahead, so we were wowed to just have happened upon her annual convention. (Awesome, right?) This year’s gathering runs from May 28 to June 2, 2013 in Boston, and part of the fun, as always, will be exploring the sites from this year’s theme books.

Our mission is to walk in Nancy Drew’s footsteps each year at our conventions. We select a theme book—one of the classic 56 hardcover Nancy Drew books printed from 1930 to 1979—that is set in a real location and we do things that Nancy Drew and her chums did in the books.

There’ll be day-tripping to Louisa May Alcott’s home and Nathaniel Hawthorne’s grave, also a pirate party, a ghost tour, clambake, treasure hunt, masquerade ball, and an event to benefit the local library in Lowell, Mass. Rev up your powder blue Mustang, pack your extra cardigan, and invite your own Bess and George for the ride, because we think it sounds like a blast! You can learn more about it at The Nancy Drew Sleuths, but hurry, because registration closes in a week!
