Library Delinquents

This lady looks like your typical 1950s librarian, and she's none too happy about your libary books being late! Imagine a world where everytime your books are late they take your mug shot along with your money! What's even more unimaginable are libraries without books—at least not physical ones.

A Texas county announced they would be opening a library complete with computers, TV screens—and no books. So, would you go to this library or are you skeptical of it, too?

I haven’t set foot in my local library in over a year, but I’ve checked out lots of books and music because they participate in Overdrive, which loans you e-books and music. You can even put a hold on books which are already checked out, and they’ll email you as soon as it becomes available. Particularly for the elderly, disabled, and people without adequate transportation, virtual libraries are as valuable as the ones filled with dead-tree books. Kudos to the county in Texas. Hope the people who live there appreciate it, and that such libraries crop up in other places.
