T-shirts Take Cover

The Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys T-shirts from Out of Print Clothing  hit us right in the bookshelf. Nancy Drew The Sign of the Twisted Candles features the original cover artwork from the 1933 dust jacket by Russell Tandy. The Hardy Boys The Mark on the Door shirt features the “flashlight” series cover by Rudy Nappi.

There are other items to touch a mystery lover’s heart as well, including a Hound of the Baskervilles T-shirt based on the cover of a 1902 first edition published in the U.K. and some ace Edgar Allan Poe gear.

Out of Print Clothing has made it a mission to celebrate the art of the book cover. (Long may it wave!) And to ensure more books—and covers—make it into more hands, the company donates a portion of its revenues to Books for Africa.

“It’s unclear what the role of the book cover will be in this new era, but we feel it’s more important than ever to reflect on our own individual experiences with great literary art before it’s forever changed,” says the company website. Suits us to a T!
