Hard Core Cons: Finding Crime at New York Comic Con!

Her majesty looks so nice, but those handcuffs…

This month is con-crazy! Of course, we adored being at Bouchercon last weekend, but upon return, we’ve got to jump right into New York Comic Con at the Javits Center in Manhattan this weekend!

Being the consummate pros we are—not to mention insatiably nosy fans— we’ve stuffed new insoles to cushion that old shoe leather and are back on the beat hunting down crime. And for this event, we’re dragging even more folks from CrimeHQ to help cover the action!

You might be surprised to know how much there is to tickle crime fans. Just last night, there was an author panel discussion called “Justice is Served,” all about the adapted role of justice once the heroes and villains are in an extralegal, paranormal, or supernatural setting.  There’s another discussion we’re anticipating where a pair of lawyers examine the real-life legal questions behind superhero stories. Are members of the Legion of Doom vulnerable to prosecution under RICO?  We’ll find out.

Stay tuned for many more write-ups, cool things we discover, pictures from live demonstrations, and plenty on the characters and stories you love (pssst— Robert Kirkman, Walking Dead cast panel).

Okay, time-out’s over. Back to our con job!
