Judging Andie: Andie MacDowell to star in Hallmark’s Cedar Cove series

I have loved Andie MacDowell since I first saw her in Four Weddings and a Funeral. I even loved her in her L’Oreal commercials and loved her even more when she became the aloof Devil Wears Prada-esque boss on ABC Family’s Jane By Design. Now, I’m preparing myself for a full-out Andie-fest coming in 2013 when MacDowell is set to star in the Hallmark Channel’s adaptation of Debbie Macomber’s Cedar Cove series.

No, Hallmark Channel and Debbie Macomber don’t exactly seem like a good fit for our criminal minds, but Andie will be playing Judge Olivia Lockhart who presides over family court in Cedar Cove. According to the announcement made May 30, 2012, the series will start with a two-hour pilot aired as a movie. If the series follows anywhere close to Macomber’s own series then there should be plenty of mystery afoot as Lockhart stumbles upon a few family problems—both at home and in the courtroom—and a few mysteries of the more sinister variety. Either way I can’t wait for the series to start up, and to see who they cast as Judge Olivia’s love interest, Jack Griffin.
