We’ve got a few nibbles of news to share:
1) They’re not calling the new movie based upon Lee Child’s novels One Shot anymore. They’re calling it Jack Reacher. Makes sense to us. Star Tom Cruise recently said he’s bringing to the part “everything but the height.”
2) The first part of the Hatfields & McCoys miniseries, in which we’ve been very interested as western fans, scored gigundous ratings “to become the the No. 1 non-sports telecast in ad-supported cable television history. The combined viewership for Part 1′s two airings was 17 million.” That’s about half a million viewers for every spit of tobaccy juice!
3) Serial series! Thomas Harris fans, in addition to NBC’s upcoming Hannibal starring Hugh Dancy as Wil Graham, there’s now another show in development at Lifetime that will tell stories from a different young agent’s perspective. It’s currently called Clarice. Who do you think would make the perfect young Starling?
Since I’ve often said I think Patton Oswald is hilarious, it should come as no surprise that I follow him on Twitter, whereon he said:
“Oh, Paramount. Titling your upcoming Tom Cruise film JACK REACHER? Are you gambling we’ll all think the joke’s too easy and walk away?”
