Sherlock, John, the Zombie Horde…Win and Hang Them All!

Friday the 13th could prove lucky for you! Sure, there’s intentional crossover between crime and horror, but during Undead April, we thought it would be grody-good fun to combine zombies with some of our site’s other favorite themes. For that, where else could we turn but to geekdom’s geniuses at that mecca of mash-ups, Draw2D2?  Our first fan-tastic offering is by artist Jason Welborn and shows Sherlock’s Team Freebatch confronting the zombie horde. Text Message: splatter.

Oh, yes, it is awesome, measured in megatonnage. But if you’ve gone all clammy-palmed and covetous, let us not delay mentioning someone will win it from us! For your chance to win a copy of this original work (hi-res, poster or portrait-sized, your choice), comment on this post and tell us the perfect place to hang this masterpiece! How about Luther and Alice for the follow-up print?

  2. Tatiana deCarillion

I wish Saturday the 14th had been a better film–I’d watch that tomorrow!!

  3. Bill Creed

I love the way the new Sherlock’s scarf is becoming as emblematic as the old deer stalker.

  4. Clare 2e

@ChadE- I feel you, and we actually have a couple of other themes in the fertile brains and hands of Draw2D2, so we’re excited to see what’s next, too!

@decarillion Sometimes we watch them anyway *sigh*

@bcreed1 Think that’s cool, too! Visual shorthand so you know which of the many Holmes you’re dealing with. The curly forelock is a dead giveaway, too!

  5. Tatiana deCarillion

@clare2e — except for the fact that the new version of the stories, Elementary, (CBS this fall) has Holmes wearing a scarf, as well, at least in the photos they’ve released, so far 🙁

  6. Ruth King

John looks very at home with that axe.

  7. Clare 2e

    Agreed @RuthKing!

@decarillion Guess we’ll have to look for this Watson as the differentiator, though I believe Elementary would be hard-pressed to supply a curly forelock, too. : )

  8. Laura K. Curtis

Has there ever been a Sherlock vs. Zombies movie? Inquiring minds want to know.

  9. Jason Welborn

Hi, the artist here. I just wanted to say thanks to Criminal Element for contacting me about doing this fun piece. It got a bit bloodier than I intended, but then again what zombie apocalypse doesn’t!

  10. Tatiana deCarillion

    We love it, Jason!!
I’m seriously considering my office for its display, should I be lucky enough to win. I have a very decent-sized office, that I don’t share with anyone, and I know there are a small handful of people at work who would appreciate it. There’s no public foot-traffic, either 🙂
